A hidden haven for wildlife and birds in the midst of an industrial landscape is about to be transformed into an Audubon Center. With ground breaking occurring in May 2008, Grange Insurance Audubon Center is near completion in 2009. This nature-based learning center is one of the first to be built close to the core of a major American city; it is in an area called the Whittier Peninsula along the Scioto River and is less than a 10-minute walk from downtown of Ohio's capital, Columbus, Ohio, and a stone's throw away from Joseph & Joseph's offices (perhaps stone throwing is a poor choice of words when referring to an Audubon Center). A unique partnership among the City of Columbus Recreation & Parks Department, Metro Parks and Audubon Ohio is involved in the restoration of the Whittier Peninsula. To See more->
